Bayou Bend Exotics is a small but serious breeder of African Pygmy Hedgehogs, Sugargliders, Mini-Chinchillas (Degus), Short-Tailed Opossums and Hairless Cavies ('Skinny Pigs' and 'Balwins') located in the quiet countryside well south of Houston, Texas. We are not a pet shop, so don't ask to come browse around our store. We are USFW licensed and USDA inspected routinely and as such, we do not allow strangers to visit our breeding barns, carrying who-knows-what germs.

If you want one of our babies, please use the Adoption Basket process to order and pay for one of our babies. Please note that if you do not pay for your baby during the checkout process, we will likely assume you are a starry-eyed kid who wants a pet but has no access to a credit card. You will receive your baby one of two ways: we will meet you in either Alvin or League City, Texas to choose your pick of the litter, or we will ship our pick of the litter via airliner and you will drive to your nearest airport that has either Continental or Delta passenger service.

We have shipped literally hundreds of our babies to places as far away as Japan and Singapore and experience has shown us that shipping can be safe for the animals if done right. We, of course, do it right. After going to this much trouble to breed them and raise them right, we have no desire to see them in any danger.
